We began this week with the best of intentions. We had so many plans! Pancakes and art projects and rubber duckies, oh my! On Monday, we enjoyed a fabulous Pancakes, Pancakes relay race, in which the children carried pancakes on spatulas (a la egg and spoon race), followed by some classic target practice: flipping pancakes into hula hoops! Looking at these pictures from just 5 days ago, when some of the children were wearing long sleeves, it feels like it was weeks ago! On Tuesday, we began our MassPort Visiting Educator program with Elaine Thap, which you can read about in the previous post. And then… Wednesday hit us with a heat wave… Just in time, the city of Boston turned on the sprinkler at the Bremen St. Park and we took full advantage! For the past 3 days, we’ve been soaking up the spray, enjoying popsicles and ice water, and generally allowing the heat and the sun to slow our pace just a bit. We’re looking forward to cooler temperatures next week, along with the return of our usual project time and more structured curricula. Until then, enjoy these delightful pictures of our fun in the sun!
